They spawned 2 days ago and I'm hoping I have wigglers today or tomorrow. The main reason I'm excited is because the male is a short body. Not sure if the short body gene is recessive with Oscars or not? Sorry for the crappy pics... They will be better as I continue to update the thread if all goes well. Male is on bottom in the first pic. He is also the one in the pot.

Nice pair of tiger oscars . See what you mean by the short body.

Thanks for showing some interest. They must have freaked out when they saw the wigglers:mad:... I might pull the eggs next time.

When I got him he was more round but he has got a little length to him while growing out. Here are some better pics... Short body male first.

I will love it next time... your a step ahead of me lol. I'm assuming their eggs hatched and they ate the wigglers because they guarded the eggs for 2 days then on the 3rd day the nesting site was completely empty. I thought they moved the fry but nope. My other pair that was within a community tank guarded the eggs until they all grew fungus. This pair was alone in a 75 gal... I had planned on letting them raise there babies but I won't risk it next spawn so I will pull the eggs and raise them myself.

I went back and saw your pair and there are no different physical characteristics between yours(as you stated) but there is with mine. I wonder if her plane Jane colors will get passed on to the female fry. It will make it that much easier for sexing. Lol
