My other hobby... need you guys opinion

As of much as I love using my Canon 7D for photos, I also enjoy it for the video feature. I think I'm finally getting it down which I use it for my sons basketball games. He's been my guinea pig. I've been using Sony Vegas to edit. Is there any one else out there who shoot video's and was wondering if you can advise of your work flow? I feel the quality of mine could be better.

I normally shoot at 60FPS, ISO (dependent on light) 1250-3200. Shutter speed @ 120. Then I use a file converter to change from from .MOV to .AVI prior to importing in Vegas. If i work straight with .MOV in Vegas I get all sorts of memory issue. But after changing it to .AVI it flows better.

Anyways, since everyone has different monitors and such, how's the video quality. If at all possible watch @ 720P for HD. I'd like to know how it's viewed on the opposite end..Also, how's the editing. Does it flow well with the music selection.

Same here and I agree about the kid's skills..The music sounds a little HBOish,not there is much wrong with that.Are you familiar with the song Black and yellow? If you could get the instrumental to it that would be great.

Thanks guys... I've done some in the past where I used hip hop. But yea, the remix to Black & Yellow (Purp & Yellow) would be cool.

I'm just glad he's into something that keeps him active. He seems to enjoy playing.

I did one with the back ground to "Sucker Punch" movie that's coming out soon. Pretty cool soundtrack.

I told him the day he beats me in 21 will be the day I'll admit he's pretty good It's just crazy though that when I ball my mind is quick like flash, but my body reaction is slow like a turtle..lol.. when I jump I feel as I still have hops, but in reality it's like an 1" off the ground...hahaha... I'm trying to get back in shape because I want to join the 35+ over league at the local rec center....

We should get an MFK Basketball game going....you ball?

Thanks, he surprises me every now and then when he plays. I'm just glad he's into sports because its so important now a days especially with all the PS3's and Xbox's. Good for kids to be active. Hey you still have the hook up for Magic Mountain?
