other than fish keeping my passion is music, specifically the guitar. ive been playing 9 1/2 years. last year after i graduated high school i went to luthiery school to learn to hand build guitars and do repairs.

heres some pics.:D
the wood i used in this guitar is african padouk, iroko, and wenge. the bridge is a kahler hybrid and the pickups are duncan blackouts. 24 frets and a neck through design.

Cool! I love woodworking!

heres the acousic i built with a redwood top, mahogany neck, and east indian rosewood back and sides. the bridge and nut are bone (carving them was a total pain but worth it). i also have a wenge fretboard with abalone dot inlays.

this guitar was just a quick idea when i saw i had a stack of extra wood. very simple. i used mahogany for the body and iroko for the neck. i was going to paint it white but after i put the hardware on i decided i like it unfinished. it looks raw. i even left my pencil marks on lol. the pickup is a dimarzio evolution

That's really neat work. I fear for what your tool set must have cost you as an initial investment.

Are you able to sell enough of them to break even and pay the bills?

Very nice - impressive work on that "explorer" type. Neck-through is the way to go for sure! Where abouts in Ohio are you?

Dude they're GNARLY, good effort, and hopefully if ive ever got enuff cash i would like for you to make me a bass, any chance of a vid to hear those bad boys????

reminds me of Carl Thompson.

thanks. im still working on getting the special tools but ive kept pretty cheap with all my power tools.

i dont sell any yet just because the cost to build and the time it takes is to much. i cant find people willing to pay $2000 for a 19 year old to build a guitar. im not taken very seriously until i show the pics. then the price scares people lol. just the wood for the acoustic cost me around $500.
but once i get through my first year of business school ill be opening my own shop.
