I just got my first ever F2 generation of my Wild Polypterus delhezi strain.

I'm keeping this strain only with very best wild and my own breed from wilds to do selective breeding for different style with Indonesian CB we can find these days.

F2 larva (Royal type F1 female * WC male on the top)

I try back-crossing this time to produce some Royal patterned F2 with great conterast of color and pattern that wild male has.
Because this is the first spawn of this F1 female, I only have very few specimens but I think I will get many more in near future.

I'm also planning to do back-crossing for stripe type and I'll keep update if i got any news about that.

I also have some different strains (based on WC * Indonesian CB) with this and I'll update about that in another thread later.

These are my friend's strain.

This fish was born between my Wild F1 male and Indonesian CB female to upgrade pattern and headshape of Indonesian CB delhezi but still have thick body shape like them.

Both male and female didn't has really great patterns but they show their great genetics with their offsprings.

Some more photo of my stripe type Wild F1.

I think this one is the best Wild F1 i'd ever got till now.
Now she is about 4 years old and hope i can see some offsprings of her too shortly.

F2 frys are growing well and almost complete absorving yoks.
It seems to little harder to raise them than usual because the frys seems bit smaller than normal (Because it's the first spawn of this F1 female) but seems i can handle it.

Hope i can get some really nice one this time.

Quick update of my Wild strain F2 delhezi.
only 4 of them were survived and I'm trying to breed them more if i can.

I also got F2 generation of "Wild Cross strain" too and I'll upload about them too soon.

(I personally define "Wild Strain" as a strain that bred only with Wild Catched specimens and "Wild Cross Strain" is the strain that contain both WC and Indonesian CB bloods - So this "Wild F2" are WC * WC -> F1, F1 * WC -> F2 and "Wild Cross F2 is WC * Indo CB -> F1, F1 * WC -> F2.)

Fantastic work you are doing. Well done. I really enjoy following along.

Do your leporinus ever nip the fins of the lazy bichirs?
