Nice. It's been over a month, I can't get my pair of 12" to stop hiding. Any advice?

Take out the hiding spots unless other tank mates need them. Mine are always swimming. As they get bigger they will free swim more also.

I wonder if my 21 clown loaches, various 5" cichlids, and 12" Flagtail are TOO busy for the eels and cause them to stay in hiding. The loaches and my scarlet plec need the hiding places so I can't take out the driftwood. Thx

Yup. IF I had that stuff in with my eels I'd never expect to see them. I also wouldn't be surprised if the Flagtail develops a taste for eel slime coat, I know they love rays' slime coat. I'd think Cichlids to be too aggressive, and from an eels point of view a herd of Loaches that size probably seems similar to the movie Night of the Lepus.

I'd try them in their own calmer tank. Get them onto floating Carny Sticks and you get a heck of a show at feeding time as they figure out the foods only at the surface.

Nice! I love the combo with CL's but mine have uprooted all my plants and disturb my soil way to much :/
