1st and 2nd pictures: big papa, pic taken today

3rd picture: moma, (cupid) taken today

4th picture: moma, (cupid) taken several months ago

5th picture: fry, about 20 of them in this 15 gallon tank, will soon get a 55 to themselves (hopefully)

6th and 7th: same fry, he's seperated into his own compartment (running on a system of about 30 compartments, 60+ gallons total). only temperary, he looks like he'll be a good lookin' one, he's only 1/2 an inch!

8th picture: another fry, fading flowerline... wondering how he'll turn out...

9th and 10th: this little guy is my favorite! he's got brilliant red eyes, his fins and face are turning reddish, and his flowerline is nearly gone! the metallic outline still remains, but he also is developing tons of pearling for his age/size!!!

none of these babies are more than 1/2 an inch!!!

all these tanks are kept in a semi-outdoor building, with clear walls (believe me, if i could i would paint the walls white... my instructor doesn't want to though :irked: ). the algae gets hard to control sometimes, but it seems to help bring out their color and keep them full if they're hungry... as long as the front glass is clean, it's fine by me!

*edit: nice female in your avatar!

Hmm how do you do that?(tank, minitank, filter(s)?
can you take a full tank shot :D

yeah! sure thing!

the reason the moma is in her own tank is that i suspect she has parasites, so i'm treating her for it, and at the same time i'm also experimenting with crossing papa with a female salvini... my feeling is that the salvini may be too small...

Does anyone have an idea about what variety of flowerhorn Big Papa is?

are you sure? he doesn't look anything like the female red dragon (mama)... he has soo much pearling and his belly is pink instead of red....
