So I've had my parrot cichlid Pinkie since he was a little bitty thing. I recently tried to sex him (after much research) and my educated guess was he was male. On a recent trip to my lfs, I saw a cute little parrot with a pretty pronounced vent (I believe that's the right term). I figured, "I guess I'll get Pinkie a girlfriend!" and so, Peach was introduced to the tank.
And so I noticed the two of them were hiding out in one spot of the tank and being super jerks to everything else. This was pretty new behavior so I started rearranging the tank to try and break up the aggression, and there was squishy little eggs all over! I ran through the house screaming, "HOLY CRUD MOM I'M A GRANDPARENT!"
I know finding a male an female parrot can be a bit of a challenge, and having a successful batch of fry from two parrots is pretty much unheard of, but I figured I'd share some pictures.
