Hi,
One of my peacocks has developed a lump on its tail fin in the last couple of days. It protrudes ~1mm out from the skin:-

the lump is on the bottom of the fin and is brown in colour, does anyone have any ideas as to what this could be? so i could start the appropriate meds asap.

thanks

i have never seen a diases like that maybe its a injury like a bruse or broken cartiledge.does he have anyone to fight with in your tank?

it dont look like no injury to me unless its internal. i did'nt see no tear or puncture

Have you removed the fish from the tank to inspect the "bump". It could be a burrowing parasite. I have had them in the past on my Africans and they love to make their way into the base of the tail. to remove just gently cut the bad boy out with a razor blade and return the peacock back into the tank and hit the water with a generic anti-biotic to prevent any infection

Would love to hear the outcome. I also had a fish with a fin lump, not so big though. It went away. I hope the best for your beauty of a fish.
