These two will only eat comets and guppies. Any idea what else they will eat other than live food?

try cut up shrimp or tilapia.

I'd try frozen bloodworms or perhaps frozen mysis shrimp. When they're small like that I'd be wary of trying a starvation method to get them on something else, but I'd keep offering. There is a sticky for converting cichla off live.

anytime I try shrimp, they just let it sink to the bottom. Almost like they do not even notice or see it. I have also tried floating freeze dried shrimp, but it seems they are not interested in it if it doesn't move.

unfortunatley i fed my peacock bass comets until about 6 inches (i know not good for them but hes fine) and then followed dmacks sticky aqqs mentiod above.

:iagree: Also a trick I saw a buddy of mine use was he would put the bloodworms in the path of the powerhead, so the powerhead would push them quickly and that seemed to attract the attention of his little pbass.

try frozen blood worms and brine shrimp, silversides and if that fails live blackworms.

These guys look a little thin in the pics. I would go with live black worms til they pack on a little weight and then try to get them on frozen bloodworms. The recommendation of using dithers to teach them what is food is also an excellent idea.

X3 on putting dither fish in there. Their competitive instinct should come out when they see the other fish eating.

X2 on not starving them. Try live black worms and mix in bloodworms and small pellets just so they get used to them. It may take a while and the tank bottom will be a mess, but the sooner you do it the easier it will be IMO.
