Went in today looking for them (just to window shop) and saw that there was no longer a tag for them, I asked the hottie that was working the fish and she said that they were on managers clearance and at this time doesn't expect to be getting anymore in. :(

Any of your Petsmart's still carrying them?

They also carried the "manager's clearance" (or something like that) at the PSs in the Dayton Ohio area. It puzzles me why they decided to try the evil route and deceive the public with their enhaced trimacs. If you want to sell Flowerhorns, then why not sell them as flowerhorns, there seems to be a plentiful market for them as is the case for the Parrot Cichlids.

It kills me because a few years back, PetSmart used to sell pure Trimacs, they had the tan and brown colors, red eyes, and no red splotches on them. They were super cool looking. I guess the suits thought the natuaral Trimac was good, but not good enough to line their pockets with gold. They must have engineered a more marketable version. They instructed (I believe) sales people across the nation in the PetSmart chain to hype this fish as being not too aggressive, you can keep other fish with it.

They rotate in variety fish every few months. The trimahorn was one of them.. They don't instruct anyone, and if they did, it's SA cichlid anyways.

I like that name, "trimahorn."

I used the word "intsruct" because I got the exact same sales pitch on "trimahorns" at the 3 PSs I visited in the Dayton area. That would be Centerville-Miamisburg, Huber Heights, and Beavercreeck. I also watched other message boards where people claimed the sales people told them the same thing about the "trimahorns". That would be PetSmarts in other states.

The day we got our itty bitty Frontosa in, the Trimacs got reduced to a dollar or two.

I haven't been in lately but I got one like a month ago, here are pics of him from like a hour ago.

The fronts got moved in and the "trimacs" out around here, the "managers choice" around here turned into the managers special within 2 months time.

whats a good price for a frontosa? I saw a bunch of beautiful ones at my good LFS for $8-12 a piece for 2"-3." I haven't seen them anywhere else though. I wanted to get one so bad but don't know anything about them and I ran out of room for fish a long time ago.
