Hello All,

New to the forum and appreciate any help. So I have a piranha that's about 10 years old and he's a big boy. Chewy, a fitting name. Last week I noticed he was moving slow and not very responsive. Cleaned his tank and supplied fresh water. Seemed to be happier the next two days. I was out of town for the last two days and when I got home this evening, he is now not moving again and very close to the bottom of the tank. He usually does not stay this low in the tank and in the past has always been active. I don't notice any slimy film on him, but will check again in the morning. I cannot find my ph tester so I will buy one tomorrow. ANY THOUGHTS OR SUGGESTIONS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thank you for your help.

is he a RBP or rhom? if its a RBP then 10years is old, they noemaly live to 11-12 years so it might just be old age kicking in or if its a rhom were thy can live to 18-20 years then he shouldnt be slowing down at all.

50 gallon. Yeah, he's in total control of that tank and is all alone. I will check water tomorrow and post an update. Should I test for anything else other than ph levels? Thanks.
