a male red belly will get to around 8-10 inch. a female will get upwords to 12
how long they live for is another question... i had one red belly that i was told was 12 years when i got it... and i had it for 2 years and now some1 else has her and shes still livin

that was a temp hold... nope never lost any. they were all moved to bigger tanks and sold within 2 weeks.
i never lost a single piranha
that tank was a 45gallon
