This is my 16gallon (2*1*1 feet) proposed planted shrimp tank with an overflow system which I completed making it last week. I know that an overflow system is not required for such a small setup but I thought it may be interesting and will make my hobby more complicated and interesting and the fact that cherry shrimps do have the habit of getting inside the filter system so I guess that an overflow system with a sump will at least prevent them from killing themselves. I made the overflow in durso style, believe me this technic is real quite I am running this type overflow in my 4ft arowana tank and its damn silent.

This is my 10gallon aquarium which I converted it into sump, this glass tub was lying in the corner of the house from quite a long time and I believe that this was my first aquarium and that was 3 three years back since I got addicted to this hobby.

The silicone got bit messy here will have to clean it. The sump design is kept simple. The sponge chamber would keep the shrimps safe and collected if any of these guys tries to escape from the tank through the overflow pipe. I will be adding substrate and plants in couple of days time to start the cycling process although I will be using the water from my cycled aquarium so I guess the cycling period will be reduced pretty much to a week I hope !
