First, my 3 gallon plakat tank. The Ludwigia ovalis and repens "broad leaf" have filled in a lot since this photo was taken. I left it at home for my dad to look after for 2-3 weeks with barely any stem plants in it, and I came back to this;

And my 6 gallon licorice gourami tank. I apologize for the glare.

Thanks! That Anubias lanceolata and clump of Java fern grew to that size in 2 years. I divided the anubias since it was growing out of the water. The L. ovalis has filled in much more since that photo.

I like the idea of having a centerpiece plant. It sort of turns the tank into more of a picture frame instead of a box. Looking great, man.

Well, I am an artist. I like to approach an aquascape like I would a painting, but with the extra element of depth. The 6 gallon is currently centered around the Java fern, since the anubias was divided. The fern is in desperate need to trimming. It's almost at the surface and the driftwood is barely visible under it, but I feel bad about cutting up such a massive specimen! It's bigger than my head!

The 3 gallon needs some revamping. I need to find a centerpiece rock or piece of wood, but the C. balansae kind of dictates what the footprint has to be. I know, a gigantic plants is going to outgrow that tank easily, but it's a slow grower so there's plenty of time. It adds a really nice texture when the leave weave through the stem plants. The betta certainly likes it.

I need to update this soon. The 6 gallon looks worse (should not have divided the Anubias) and the 3 gallon looks much better (added a new filter).
