My Pleco and 220 tank...

My pleco keeps digging a hole there and I have to keep filling it up, anyone know why he keeps digging there?

This was shot at night with just my night lighting on, my old 4 foot single bulb strip.

my BN plec does this when he wants to get somewhere. i had to keep filling the underside of a mangrove root in case it toppled onto any fish. the way around it is to put the decor on the bottom of the tank and fill in around it so it cant drop. its hard with uneven objects like my mangrove root though. i found that if i was persistant enough with filling it in he eventually gave up and now sits in between the intake pipe and my heater. its makes a hell of a mess with sand though.
i had to get rid of my first common plec cos he dug my sand straight into my filter intakes. he was a beast of an excavator.

Mine often do it to get underneath an object, to create their own hiding spot. Maybe sifting through for food too. Just something they do.

and for the record Louis black is possibly the least funny person on the face of the earth.

I mean all he does is yell....how is that funny?



To fix the problem just lay a piece of slate there...might not stop the digging but you wont have to fill that particular hole anymore lol

I was watching the simpsons then right after is south park, I dont watch lewis black it was just a comercial lol.

It is just that spot, woke up went to turn on their light and he did it again down to bare glass...
