dont know much but found at a LFS so got it thanx for liking

I like the substrate too. You don't see white gravel often, usually just white sand. Nice pleco too.

Yes, it is a common. There are three different kinds of commons.

Over the years the first common(Hypostomus plecostomus) was 'replaced' by Pterygoplichthys pardalis and Pterygoplichthys disjunctivus which are the new commons, however the name seemed to stick around thus adding confusion to the mix.
