I found my blood parrot suddenly upside down yesterday night, but still breathing. He is still alive a day later, and has even moved from different ends of the tank, but remains upside down. I know the species is notorious for swim bladder problems, but idk if thats what this is.

Any suggestions on how to help him would be greatly appreciated. He really is a very sweet hearted fish, while still remaining personable.

Thank you

I would treat for swim bladder. Raise the temp to 82and make sure there is plenty of surface agitation for oxygen exchange. Add epsom salt at 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons and try to feed it a skinned pea.

Thank you for your response. My boy is still in his tank though, will the tbsp per 5g hurt the other inhabitants? All are other SA/CA's, 1 pleco, 3 botia. I don't have a quarantine tank, but if it comes down to his life, he is my child and I can get one.
