ok i have 8 fish in a 65gallon tank dovii,firemouth ,red devil,trimac, jaguar,blue berry oscar,pink convict,salvini how long can i seriously keep them together before i have to upgrade to a bigger tank

Well, when the dovii decides he'll let you know and then you will have no time at all. If you're able to keep them together without them killing each other, you'll need a 90 in 3-5 months and probably a 180 in 6-9 months.

couple months at MAX. that dovii needs a 180 alone, red devil, trimac, oscar need a 55 each jaguar needs a 75. firemouth convict and a salvini need at least a 30

well i was considering getting a 140 gallon in a couple of months so could i split them up and put the dovii and the red devil and trimac ,oscar together or just the dovii alone

It all depends on which fish will work out with each other. There are to many people on here that will tell you the dovii will kill everything. The bottom line is there is no fish meaner then the other. Its all on the individual fish itself so you will have to grow them out and find out for yourself who tolerate each other. as long as you have the tanks available then you can switch fish as needed to see who gets along.

depends on your dovii... if he doesnt want tank mates which they normally dont allow then i would say you need to get a 240 gal which would be best or the dovii needs a 180.

as far as compatibility goes anything is possible. I currently have a midas/festea/2 uros/jardini/butti/2carpintis/red texas/grammode/male and female jag/black belt/loiselli/motoguense all in a 150 ranging from 4 to 10 inches. im going to leave them in there until some of the 4 inchers ger a little bigger then put all my smaller ones in a 100 gallon i picked up.
