Okay, I bought 2 gsp's a few weeks ago, and I've been slowly working my tank up to a brackish set up. They are both a little over an inch now, in a 46 gallon tank, ac110 and ac70. Tank was fully cycled when I got them as fw, cause that's what the lfs keeps them in, SG is currently at .008. Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 10. I was thinking the puffer looked like he had 'puffed' and was stuck that way and then the next day he was dead :(
Anything I should be worried about for the remaining puffer? He looks fine to me, but I'm new to these guys....thanks.

Sounds like internal parasites, maybe be worried... most likely no. Depending on how fast your were raising the salinity they might have gotten stressed out, or they could have just brought it in from the store.

How was the tak cycled? You must not raise the SG faster than .002/week or there is a chance your system will crash. Knowing your parameters will help.
Green Spotted Puffers
Treating Internal Parasites

Tank was cycled as freshwater with ammonia. When it was done with it's cycle I went and got the puffers.
I've only been raising the SG .002 a week.
My params are just about the same now as they were in my first post. ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 20

i'd look into internal parasites as cassharper said, and maybe have JPC on hand in case.

Sorry, by a few weeks, I read 2. since puffers are wild-caught fish, they do often come in with IPs. Easy to treat, as long as they are still eating.

puffers are hard to keep mine keeps twitching and has spinning spells every once in a while but most of the time its all good... sorry about the puffer tho, i feel ur pain

]v[onster farewell to my "puffy" i had in 4th grade... man i loved that thing
