what's with the turtle?

My aquarium all started with the turtle, he is a midland painted. i found him at my cottage the size of a quarter in the middle of the road. at a off season for offspring. so i took him in. and slowly started adding fish, as i felt bad taking him out of his natural habitat. and i promised my self i would give him as close as one as i ever could. with land, fish, playing outside. had a lil pond in my backyard in the summer, when im out back with him. great spirited, and loves the water. barely comes out to bask. he swims with the fish and tries cuddling the pleco and will fall asleep on his back sometimes.
iv trained the turtle not to eat the fish. he aslo plays with my pleco. puffer and him keep there space. he knows not to get to close, as does the puffer.

Thanks :) Gus is amazing, does great with the community, only eats out of my hand. other than the snails he loves hunting them, ill sneak them in when hes sleeping at night usualy. spent two weeks going back to bigals almost ever day, before i got him. he bonded to me right away, and always got excited when i came up to the tank. and would hide from everyone else. fell in love, and now getting ready move him into his new home. trying for febuary, to have everything done and set up.

the turtle doesn't pollute the water? Also, aren't those temperate reptiles? Mbu looks good and congrats on keeping that a "community" tank!

Filtration Filtration Filtration and alot of airation :D
all the damn fish pollute the water more than he does.
most people have turtles in 4" of water. so yeah the waters very poluted, my tanks full to the rim, with land added on top, tank im building will be close to 400g, and full to the top, with a large land mass. live plans in and out of the water.
midlands Turtles live through our canadian winters and summers, can live in freezing cold or hot lil ponds. they can pretty much live through anything that could happen in this tank. i had a major miss hap where i had to take Gus to big als for 3 weeks till i got my water back under control. i made a impatient mistake. and lost alot of fish. but i left him, i knew he would be fine. the guy doesnt stop swimming, he does water treadmill in the current, plays with the pleco non stop they chase eachother all day. pleco more wants to suck on his shell but he loves the activity. hes like a lil puppy i swear.

Gus is swimming around all the time again. he got real lazy for a bit think i was over feeding him. he would mow down a larg shrimp and just be bloated lying on the bottom all day. which wasnt normal so i started breaking his food up now i share a shrimp between him and the turtle, and 2 times a day and 2-3 times a week hide snails for him to hunt for. so now he spends his day swimming around looking for snails, not knowing if i put them in when he was sleeping. i love when they fan their tail out. i think its so beautiful.
i miss the datnoid i lost though, this new ones, really odd like the old guy on family guy, he swims up to the fish and like cuddles up next to them its really odd but hides from me. fire eels awesome soo friendly.she thinks the turtle shell would be the epic home, always trying to investigate seeing if there is a way in. guess she likes mobile homes. but think i better get to bed. want to start figuring out how im a build my new tank.

really in the end i dont know much a bout fish at all. i read, and learn. but in the end, they all have their own personalities and health. and if they are happy, and healthy then thats what matters to me. if not well, ill help find them a better home.
but i have a tank full of fish that are supposed to attach, kill, eat, destroy eachother. and they all get along, play, chase, no fin nipping.
i usually try to take my time picking the fish. ill spend hours at the tank, before purchasing, or days visiting. before i confirm thats the one.
unless its the schoolers. im about to have fry for the first time! i dont think they going to live long :) but never know i have 6 white cloud minnows just over half inch long, and i think the gar got one. wow he is one horrible hunter. mine doesnt each much either goes weeks before having a fish or turtle pellets. iuno likes turtle pellets lol right i was going to bed.

thanks,
just finished the drawings for their new tank. hopefully going to get started on it this week.
