Im really confused from the stuff I have read about sexing umbee, I am sure mine is a male because he was most dominant biggest brightest colors, but I heard that black tear drops could be a sign of female and dorsal and pelvic fins black are a sure sign, I just held a mirror to him and he got pissed but up his face to the glass on a angle and his head turned soooooo black, but his pelvic and anal fin turned black also but just the edges of the fins, but his dorsal did not go black at all, do males get black pelvic fins?. If you guys can have a glance and just give your 2 cents I would appreciate it. Thanks

From what ive seen and in my experience id say male. Dark edges in the pectorals ive seen in confirmed males. The fact that his head goes really dark with aggression also says male. No black in the dorsal is obviously good too. Looks great! Just give him time to color up more.
