is this normal i didnt have any air bubles going or anything thought it may be due to lack of O2 in my tank . i do have a bunch of live plants though thats why i didnt have the bubles on

If their gills aren't pumping really hard then the O2 is fine. From my experience with RBP's they tend to hang out in their own little territories......... and that's about it. Well until it's feeding time.:D

a piranha always looks like its mouth is open but if u get down and look in the mouth you will will something opening and closing and a piranha is not a super active fish when someone is around most of the time they will sit all huddled together

Why no bubbles for them? i like lots of 02 in my p tanks, always at least one powerhead goin with plenty of 02 flowin through it, add a bubbler and see if it changes there behavior

I recon you should put the bubbler on as well. Piranhas natural habitats are normally rich in oxygen (flowing rivers). They will certainly be more happier if not more active with a larger amount of O2 in the water.

will that effect my plants at all? or not enough to tell. or should i just give up on the whole planted tank thing all together. i have a duel flourecent and flourite thats it really no co2 system or anything

Yea it may compromise the plants a bit but when it comes down to it I would rather have the fish healthy. I run bubbles on most of my tanks with plants in them. They do fine...

Higher temps require more oxygen in the water.
