Has anyone here ever gotten bitten by a RD? I did, and only once (not stupid enough to stick my full hand in there anymore, just the python vacuum...) I think he is the first fish that has scared the fear of God into me, he bit me when he was only about 4" and it hurt like HELL! I don't know what he would do now...I was never mean to him or anything, but anything I put in there dies. Not until the lights go out, but come morning, BAM, dead fish. I named him Jonesy. Meanest ****ing fish I've ever met. He's only about 6" so half grown, but he goes after that python tube and attacks it about once every two seconds...here are pics:

Also, my oscar (the tiger) bit me today, he got my elbow. He has always been pretty passive before, what do you guys think could have caused this? Here he is:

nice rd.Ive been bitten by my rd alot of times and i had to use bandades and papertowels to stop the blood flow from the small cut.

there protecting there territory!

name fits huh? red DEVIL, lol

its just protecting its territory, its not being "mean"

all this talk about how agressive they are, is making we want one more than ever..but i dont have the room :(.....lol

That is a real Red devil.. they bite and attack anything that goes inside their tank..mine is so mean that he will jump in the net .. he has no fear.. I do not think all red devils are this nasty but when you get a fearless one they are fearless to all other fish and should remain single in a tank to themselves.. i think anything you add to the tank would fall victim and they don't care if it is 3x's their size...but they are unique and beautiful and i enjoy their attitude.. they are fighters and you must respect that they are the king of their domain.

nice looking red devil...i like the colors. really red
