It seems after it reaches 40cm mark, it gets wider and taller. It doesnt adds more to length. His back is higher than before.
Pic #1, he was about 35cm, and now is about 40-42.

So the growth rate is about 1 inch/month until 40cm.

Also, as you can see, he went for a DE surgery.

And this is him under white light

I need to wait a few more years to see him real red without light. It is all about the journey not the destination :)

And this was him right before and after DE surgery back on may 7th 2017.

Its looking stunning
Yes.. the long journey to colour development.... as you say... the pleasure of the journey is what matters..
They do get fatter and higher around the 40cm mark but then they go through another jump in growth and my Flash then jumped from 43cm to 48cm (measured out the tank last week) in about 3 months so believe me she will soon start putting on length again
The surgery really came out beautifully done.. you cant even notice it

the main excitement of keepin a red aro is watching his color development.. for me he looks a lot better in person..

Interesting that it got drop eye,who performed the corrective surgery?

Sadly, DE is quiet common problem here. The operation was done by a Profesional. I was fortunate to see the operation by my own. Infact, i was the surgeon assistant during the operation.

The aro was made half conscious, and submerged. My job was to hold its fat tissues and stuff with pinset, while the surgeon cut them off and correct the eyes. Eventho the DE was only on the right eye, but we fixed both to make them even and center.

After the operation was done, we put the aro back in the tank, hold it still, and used airstone to regain his consciousness..

Everthing was done in about 5 minutes

This was my another aro who went the DE surgery on the same day. He had a more severe DE than the other one and now is totally fixed. :)

The pic was taken right before and after operation as well.
