hi
so the other day the tank cleaner from the store came to change the water. he noticed that the lower lip of the arowana is longer than the other, he said a good arowana shouldnt have that. i dono wat he means, is that a big problem? im worried

i dono if thats some chinese myth about dragon fish, but im still worried

please heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp

thanks a lot

:)

It is for the most part a defect in the jaw of the fish. The upper and lower parts of the jaw don't match up evenly. It doesn't hurt the fish but some people see it as a defect in arowanas.

Just because the aro has plj doesn't mean it's going to die. Maybe the guys is telling everyone he changes water for, so you will go and buy another aro.

By the way, how big is your tank, why do you have some guy cleaning your tank?
maybe post picture so we can see what he's talking about.

Good Luck.

1st you get someone from a fish store to clean your tank and change water

Come on do that yourself it's all part of the hobby cleaning the tank and changing what and when the aro gets big and strong up can say it was your care that got the aro like that not some guy from the store

It's easy and only take about an hour if you have the right tools but hey your money so it's up to you how you spend it

I also had to pay a guy to do water changes on my old tank when I was in hospital so I know it's not cheap

Any as others have said it sounds like PLJ I wouldn't worry about it to much as it didn't bother you when you got the aro so it shouldn't bother you now

Some call it a defect but it doesn't affect the aro in any way it's just cosmetic you can live with or you can't one thing I noticed about PLJ is once someone tells you your fish has it your eyes seam to be drawn to it more

PLJ is more comen in red you don't see as manta xback with it

A picture would be nice to see how bad it is

i agree. in some places, plj can reduce the value of aro.
