Hello everyone My name is Johnn. I recently joined this site and I am amazed and impressed with everbody's knowledge, and monster fish keeping abilitys. I recently got back into fish keeping, and decided to try some piranhas. The tank is a 77gallon glass i was given and had to re-seal. I also built the stand myself. I am running a fluval 405, 300w heater, and the light is a 46" glo fixture (rarely on). The piranha have been in about 2 1/2 months and have went from quarter size to about 3". I have many plans in the works: A sheet of tinted glass for a lid is on order, soon a powerhead, and driftwood if i can ever find any. Here's a crappy pic for now but please leave your questions/comments. Thanks!

Sorry I should have mentioned there is 5 piranha in there and they are doing great. Good luck with your bala sharks! I would like to see some pics^

lol...i see three now but not 5 oh well but thank you with the comment on the bala sharks hopefully i can get my tank that is eventually a 55 gallon fish tank to be what i want!

Hey everybody, been a while since I've been on. Here's an update on my boys. They are about 1 year and 4 months old now and very healthy. I gave 2 back to the pet store a few months back because they were becoming very aggressive with eachother. They are about 6 inches now and getting very thick. The only updates to the tank are the tinted glass top and a new protected 300w heater.

Just a suggestion, but maybe paint the back black. THis will bring out the color more against it and is very easy to do with spray paint or a roller without having to move the tank. Just make sure the top is covered and I think you will like it :)

Bala Sharks in a 55? Have you seen them fully grown cruising a tank?

I wouldn't put them in my 125!
