My red devil is turning black?

I saw baby RD's at the LFS few days ago and they were black.. i thought it would be nice if they could keep some of the color pattern but it is just varous stages........

As the others have said, completely normal. Dont be surprised if turns white, lol.

My female's doing this too. Went from barred juvie coloration to completely orange to black lips and black edged fins and now back to solid orange.
I wonder what's next.
