My Red Devil's lips turned black?

I got a little guy a few weeks ago and the guy at my favorite LFS said he got pure Red Devils in and had one left. I bought a whole tank just to grow him untill he can go into my big tank. Anyways his lips turned black?! What the ****? Normal?

Red devils and midas go through many color morphs as they mature. This is very normal.

What KNH stated, there is a chance they might even go back to the way they were!

My midas started out striped, turned yellow and black, turned orange and black, turned orange, then got more black, and is now orange again.
You just never know.

Yes and it can be very drastic.. I bought one around 2-3 " and I went away on a Friday when he was still 95% black and very drab looking. I came back sunday to him turned about 90% orange.. and then 100% over the next couple days..

Awesome.......He also is getting a some black and blue on the edges his tail fin....Sweeeeeet.

Stress? My water has been changed and my fish is still showing lots of black........do I need to worry?

Don't worry they go through the color change for reasons we don't notice...like maybe...can't see the TV or might not like your music and so on.

It's probably the TV, my girlfriend makes me watch Bravo alot.

I'll bet thats it...mine like to watch the nature channel and the discovery channel but the do get upset when they show bears.
