Along the way ive moved, and ive had to switch tank due to risk of the old one breaking apart(the original in pic 1 was a very very old thin glass aquarium)
But here we are :), the shroom there was my first coral. over the year and months ive kept the same system equipment specs

50w Heater
2x 15w T8 tubes(Arcadia Marine White, Arcadia Blue Actinic)
Red Sea Prizm skimmer(alltho i bought the upgrade kit for it this spring)
MaxiJet 500 Powerhead

For some reason ive never had much luck with fishes, they seem 100% healthy the one day and the next they are dead. 3 instances of this. im not shure if i have a predatory slow moving brittlestar that might have caught them in their sleep, wich would explain why somtimes months passed between the deaths, or simply just bad luck maybe.

I had a lawnmower blenny once that seemed to have died from starvation, wich was strange because there was a great deal of hair algae and food around.

Currenlty the tank is fishless, i plan on either restocking with clowns or some stunning fish, or with some golden dwarf morays.

But i do have quite a few inverts, Cleaner shrimp, tiger pistol shrimp, a couple of stripe-legged hermits, 4x astrea, a handful of ceriths and a few small snails, brittlestars and asterina stars.(and a secret hitchiker wich i will reveal further down)

I have had relativley great sucess with corals, Shrooms, LPS and SPS. i dont know what it is, if there is something special with Arcadia tubes or not, but every single coral i have had has loved the lighting, even thou they are designated as High light requiring. corals brown out when they dont get enough light ;)
Coral population includes Hydnopora, Button Polyps, Pineapple brain, hairy shrooms, candy cane and zoas

The hydnopora i got for free, it was a tiny frag, heavily damaged.

But it recovered real nicley, not only reclaimed the old skeleton, but grown larger than before. in fact i just discovered the other day, that it now has anchored itself to the rock :)

A very fun day came a few months ago, i took out one of my rocks because it was covered in hair algae, i scrubbed it off in a container with some of the tank water, it was then i discovered the best hitchiker ive ever gotten, in terms of mobile that is(my shrooms were HH's)
A Limpet :) Scutus Antipodes

Some have reported that they have eaten their coraline, but ive had no such problems, and even if he should get a taste for it theres no biggy, i got tons of it in the whole tank :)

And finally, my Zoo's. they are not too happy, they have been closed up for weeks, i dont think they were comfortable with the flow in an area so i moved the rock slightly, and a couple of them are starting to carefully open up now. Notice the little colony down towards the right bottom. they never seemed to mind the flow, they have always been open and happy. cant wait for them to grow larger.

In the near future ive got several tank upgrades going. i have already placed an order and im waiting to recieve a "Hydor Flo Rotating water deflector", its a cheap wavemaking device, its becomming very ver popular, it creates randomized currents and is simply attached on to the nozzel of a powerhead.
Im also working on trying to compleate a moonlight module for my tank as well :)

My Alveopora, was doing so dandy but died after 7-8 months, they are known to be hard to keep alive. their deaths are a mystery, they look ok but just shrivel up and die all of a sudden.

My first fish i had, a dottyback, got evicted thou when he killed all 3 of my pepperminth shrimps.

My First Hermit, died not to long after a molt :(, both sad but good, he was strip mining all of my coraline

Well, thats that, :)

looks good i cant wait for mine to finish cycle

Very nice. I have always wanted to do a reef tank. But if I did I will be broke even more than I am now.
