Took my wife and 4 year old daughter to the local shelter with the forwarning that we are here ONLY to look, no more dogs...mistake. we were looking around and saw a 3 month old female white pit. My daughter had to play with it so we took her to the visitation room. She played with the dog, wife played with the dog, i played with the dog. After 15 min, my wife says to my daughter, ok honey, we have to say good bye. We cant have another dog. Before, she could finish, i told the worker, "i need an adoption application please." She was left on the doorsteps over night taped up in a small box with no holes. She wasn't even in the system and was soon to be put down due to overpopulation. She was such a sweet dog and after spending some years working at petshops, and 2 shelters, ive fallen in love with the pit bull breed. They are such smart, loving and loyal dogs. Ive never been able to adopt any of the sad storied ive rehabilitated. Now that i have a big backyard of my own, Lilly will never have to worry about wandering the streets or fighting unless she wants to steal a toy from my 7 year old rat terrier. Pictures will be up in a few days, we are waiting for her to get her shots.

PICS!

Nice! I commend people like you for giving the pitbull a second chance to live. :) I lead a dog group that encourages adoption of dogs found in shelters, most recently the rescue and rehabilitation of at least 200 pitbulls that were used for fighting purposes. As of posting time, the volunteers are updating us regarding the dogs' conditions until they are ready for adoption. :)

that is sooooo sweet. congrats on rescuing her. pitbulls are amazing dogs and i wish we were allowed them in the UK. one thing i like about rescue dogs is that they are so grateful for anything you do for them whether its big or tiny. you never know, because you rescued her your daughter could go on to do it too when she's grown up and save even more lives.

that is such a great story..... so happy for Lilly.. she deserves a home to call her own forever...... i cannot wait to see the pics.. and thanks for opening your heart and your home...
