My rhom ate shrimp pellets!!

I was wondering if there are any other tried and true pellets that others have had luck with. Also because he eats the pellets off the ground, and the substrate is sandy, can he get digestive compaction?
This is such a relief, and i can't wait to see if it makes a difference in his colors.

I feed my RBP Hikari sinking carnivore pellets. I just started last week and he ate it with no problems. I didnt even have to starve him! Im not sure about the sand. My tank is bare. So my RBP's diet consist of market shrimp and sinking carnivore pellets. I am also open to suggestions from anyone else.
