my rope fish pls help!

well ive had this rope fish for awhile now id say rough 10months or so always been a very healthy eater i noticed hes been eating less now there on his tail something that i just took as a cut its always been white and now it apreas to be growing and i noticed today that his neck area seems to be red and almost inflaming looking. ive done water changes every 4 days since i noticed the white slit anyone have any tricks or ideas id really hate to loss him

im planning on throwing him into my hospital tank and give him some malicat (cant spell it) green baths. that a good idea

go with a broad antibacterial medication like maracyn (1 or two)

it looks like a cut that scabed over then all of a sudden it turned white ish i was putting melafix in the tank .

well hes dead now i cought it to late..... WHY O GOD WHY
