My ropefish died and I don't know why?:(

:( I got him thursday afternoon...he died sunday night. He looked fined up until death. When i first got him he would hide under a driftwood alot..maybe come out at night...by saturday and sunday he was swiming around much more..which i thought was good. Sunday he began to float on the top through..at the surface of the water..or hang out by the fliter intake..again up at the surface...does that behavoir indicate anything?

I checked the tank water and it's fine, My Congo Leaf is fine..my catfish and ABK ...fine. I found him dead on the bottom...at first i thought he was hanging out...but i didn't see his gills moving..so i touched him with the net...he was dead.


I did add sechems purigen in a mesh net to my HOB filter...it has cleared up my tank of driftwood tannis...but with or without tannis, again..my other fish are fine.
 
Wow, I found out what happen. This pet store that i go to, is usually pretty good. I ask them if they could get some ropefish in ...so they did the next week...two of them. I pick up one...so today i go in to see about the other one since mine died...and it was there..in the same tank...dead as a door nob...and rotting. Normally this pet shop is better than that..but they missed the ball on this one. there are other ones that i trust that i can go to though.
 
What is WC? and what kind of meds...can these meds be used on congo leaf fish and african brown knife in case they get sick? Although theyb look just fine.

WC= wild caught as far as meds there r many options. 4 parasites ive used rid ick and parasite clear read the poly health sticky 4 way more info on symptoms and cures
 
i wonder if your perameters were outta wack compared to the LFS and maybe it really shocked him...plus there supplier just might not be that well for this type of fish
