My royal knife has developed a strange bend in her body. At first I thought she was just resting funny, but it has continued to get worse. Now she cannot straighten out her body At the same time she has been kind of listless. She has always been a picky eater, but it has gotten much worse. Now she snaps at the goldfish but usually she missed them. I do not know what could be wrong with her. But I am worried because my clown knife in a different tank is starting to rest funny in his pvc tube with a bend in his body similar to my royal knife. Has anyone observed this before in another knife? Any ideas on what I can use to treat them?
Here are some pictures. My clown knife definately has the same thing. It is a dorsal bend.
I have moved them to the same tank and have started treatment with tetracycline. I recently had a Mycobacterium mariunum infection and am wondering if they could have it too. I throught I was exposed through my saltwater tank when I was stabbed by a piece of live rock, Now I always wear gloves, but I did not know I had an infection for about 3 weeks. (It is a really slow growing bacteria.)
Since I posted this in the knife section this past weekend, my clown knife has died
I had only noticed him being sick in the last week and my royal has been acting strange for more than a month.
I do not think I have a vet around here that treats fish. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
