My 4' RTC died today for no apparent reason I couldn't figure out what would have caused this. I have 2 copper oscar 2 1/2' and a albino red oscar 3 1/2' and had 2 RTC (Now 1 :((() of 3' in a 10g grow out tank. I had good filteration, no shortage of oxygen or food. It was healthy and active last night.
Any suggestions comments and help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

N

i understand its just a grow out.. but even then a 10gal iv very small for all those fish.. even if ur water is pristine

if its a standard ten gallon tank its 6 times the length of the biggest fish and 2.5 times wider then the largest fish.... if the waters fine and theres aeration tank size really isn't the problem here i don't think

first rtc hate salt second extream low ph third rtcs will starve to death if you do not keep them feed when they are young (if an rtc is active it is hungry)
I have avoided salt completely to use with all my fresh water fish especially with scaless ones... Ph wise I don't have a tester but I presume it is normal as we don't have ard water around here and I use well water for my fish... They were fed well last. Night as well... That's the reason I am confused to know what happened......
Thanks,greenbud

The dimensions are 2*1*1 you think that's too less a space for those fish?

' means foot " mean inches, so if you had all those fish at 4 foot 3 1/2foot and so on in a ten gallon, I would like to see pictures first, but no wonder he died. That's 20 gallons of --it in a ten gallon tank.
