MY RTC GOT @SS KICKED!!!!! HELP

my rtc got his ass beat pretty bad by my ornate bichir. The rtc is not only missing most of his fins, but the tail fin is completely bitten off. THere is blood on the tail some meat is missing. WILL THE CATFISH HEAL????? OR HOW CAN I FIX HIM UP

your bichir has passed the point of no return sorry bro the best thing you can do is put him down... once you get past the primordial cells (the ones at the base of the fins) their tail will not grow back... and will never be able to swim correctly... sorry for the loss man...

I think at strike one I would've removed the bichir or red tail cat to a separate tank. You asked for it...

you would be surprised how tough fish really are. i think it has a great chance. penicillin is the key. go to the lfs and get aquarium penicillin. IT WILL WORK.

if it continues eating, then your RTC is fighting to survive, give it that chance.. but definitely separate 'em. goodluck.

Separate them at once if you haven't already. It will definately heal if you prevent infection from setting in. I've seen a lot worse and they healed. GL...
