My RTC is shy

is it normal for a young rtc to be shy? I barely had him for over 2 weeks and he just stays in one spot and would not move anywhere, only move when i feed him and that is it, hes about 3 inches long

yes thats very normal for such a small rtc...i had one awhile back and he stayed hidden until late into the night. once he hit about 6-7 inches he started to swim around a little more and would come out during the day time to feed. just give him some time and he will come around

mine did it too. Now he stays at corner of tank, dances for me when he sees me, and gobbles all food down.

X2 when its just a natural instinct. In the wild a baby RTC is very tiny compared to its co-inhabitants. But once he gets bigger it will hardly ever hide.

It is normal mate, mine did it too. now he's outgrown my hybrid at 9 inches.
