Fishing in Wisconsin
Just got these in at my LFS so I had to have one, they were listed as orange pike, but I never have a lot of luck with the ID thread, it only kinda looks like one of the Xingu I pictures. First set of pics is my new pike, the second set is of my old grumpy pike which I love. Enjoy and thanks for any help IDing the little guy.

Yeah, I was pretty sure on the sveni, green belly crawler. I really love the new orange pike, he's just getting settled in, but already has a full belly of blood worms.

Crenicichla sp. "Xingu I". I've seen these commonly called Orange Pikes, Xingu Pikes & Santarem Orange Pikes.

Interestingly enough I've seen these pikes range from an almost brown color with just a hint of orange to an orange that is so brilliant the fish looks red. I'm of the opinion that there are a number of geographical races and that it is not just diet. I've seen adults that look quite different as well.

Yours is a very nice orange color!

Not sure if it's just around here or not, but Xingu 1's are also sometimes unfortunately sold as 'orange dwarves.'

Sveni are not Belly crawlers. 2 different species groups. They come in with belly crawlers at times but they are swimmers.

I did not know that. Neat, I guess I never did see him crawl on his belly... LOL.
