Thx, Hmmm... does growing external gills means the water in the tank is not oxygen rich enough??
hence need of external gills? when i bought my poly he/she has no external gills on him/her...

Yes it has a lot to do with it but they do have them when they are young anyway,put an airstone in their tank and see if they go.

thx, Steve.. will try to have a go on the air stone... by the way and suggestions on the brand of the air pump? since i dont wanna get anything thatz too noisy...

I use power head in my tank which also makes bubbles, so far havent seen external gills growing back on my bichirs
