(Skip this if you want the short version)So I have a 5" Senegal and I got some earthworms as a treat....well he liked it wouldn't let go, did a deathroll of EPIC porportions and got a 3"-4" piece of it leaving me to give my little endli a half inch piece for him to come out of his cave and then retreat......
Long Story Short....did he eat too much he's seems very fat now and is breathing very deeply

Nope. He's fine, just had a nice meal and likes to relax just like the rest of us. A fat bichir is a healthy bichir!

bichirs r like snakes they can eat hugh proportions to their own body, had an albino that ate a worm almost same size as him, he snaked that thing down

WEEE I lOVE OBESE BICHIRS they are sooo cute and adorable... I feed mine fish fillets everyday! They really grow fast and fat in this type of diet.

:irked: I don't like obese bichirs.....Okay once a week with Earthworms...

hehe mine gets lumpy. My delhezi ate an earthworm his size once that was pretty funny. I was worried about bloat but he came around after a day or two.

Bichir's stomaches are like potato sacks. They can fit a lot in their without it harming them. It's not really a good idea to overfeed them, but in a case like this where it's just a worm, I wouldn't even worry about it.

The breathing heavy is just a sign of resting. They need time to sit back and digest the meal.

EDIT: I just realized this was a few days old...
