My severum finally accepted a couple catfish.

For the 2 and a half years I've had my severum, he's killed pretty much all the catfish I've tried to keep with him, with him especially disliking plecos. I got both a featherfin and lace synodontis a couple months ago, and he's left both of them alone, and they're doing great.

I still can't keep plecos though, and they only last a couple weeks at most if I try, no matter the size I've gotten, so I've given up. Any suggestions on how I could keep one if I do try again down the line?

get plecos that are large. I had a couple about 16" at the time and put some smaller sevs in and never had any issues. goodluck

Its strange to see a severum killing armoured catfish. Are you sure that he could possibly kill a large plec? If he does in reality, thats an odd sev you have.

I could no imagine a sev killing my 10" royal... try to get one.

My severum has a fake log that he doesn't let anyone in, and all the plecos I've gotten have gone in there, and I've found a lot of them dead in and around the log in the morning when I'd turn the tank on. Even my jewel doesn't go in there or he gets chased out. I know it's the severum that's done it, because I've had him the longest out of any fish in the tank besides my blue gourami, and that definitely isn't the culprit. Plus I've gotten plecos at 4 different stores, so I don't think it's the stock either. I'll have to try a real large pleco then, if I find one.
