My Sevs are spawning :)

So I came home after a trip to Des Moines and come home to see the back of my pot littered with eggs, anything in perticular I should know about spawning sevs? I already set up a 10g holding tank for the babies when they hatch.

They are Super Reds (Red Dot) lol

Oh they look gold in the photo. The bottom one does not look like it has any red spots. I love the one in the first photo. It's not that scary red.

Super reds don't breed well many times the eggs never hatch. Let us know how it goes.

I will keep you updated on how it goes, right now it looks like the parents are eating some of the eggs which is I guess common for a first time spawn.

Yes they will eat the eggs that went bad. Sometimes with the first spawn they will eat them all. They always eat the bad ones if they go white they are bad. Bad eggs will attract fungus.

Well it looks like they are starting to eat them all Well they will spawn again, they are looking like they want to again.

Sevs are not always the best parents. The eggs that turn white are bad, but if any of the eggs stayed clear they were likely good eggs. I would let them try again, and if they eat them again you could consider removing the eggs and hatching them without the parents.
