My Shovel has an ouchie!

I need to figure out what i have in my tank that my shocel nose keeps running into he has a nice sized gash on his nose. this has happend once before but now the size has doubled. im positive he doing it when he goes to eat his food in the middle of the night.

my question is should i give him some medicine to help it heal faster last time i just left and it healed fine but this time like i said its doubled and bleeding i feel horrible. what can i use on him? i have one crawfish but i can throw him in another tank.

how big is your crawfish?eventually the crawfish will eat your fish.maybe the pinchers got the shovelnose injured.take out the crawfish fish.your catfish should heal naturally.if not and seems to get worse.use tetracycline(250mg).its a very safe antibiotic.good luck!!!

FIRST, take the crayfish out, THEN, bump the temp to 80 to 85, THEN add salt.........

i only added that the crawfish was in there in case someone suggested meds that could kill him... he is about 2 or 3 inches. hes not the one hurting the shovel. and i always add salt on every water change and i usually leave the temp high for the ich. so i guess he fine then. hes had this before and it healed fast but its just bigger and i feel bad. the shovel should be getting a new home soon i was hoping to keep him but i guess hes too big for my tank now. thanks anyways
