Where the Parachromis roam...
I have a 3" Umbee who has developed "head twitching" with "flashing" off of rocks.I would like to take some pics, but he hides most of the time and when he comes out and sees me he goes right back to hiding. There is no visual "ich" spots actually there is no signs of disease at all except for what is mentioned. There is a lot of aggression in my tank so could this be causing the problem??What can i do to fix this fish(he will be going into his own 20 gal long later, should i get some meds??If so what??Thanks!!

hard to say what is wrong with him. give your symptoms one would think ick but that would be evident. I like to use furan-2 in combination with clout and seems to be the miracle med of choice for any of my fish (never done me wrong) Give it a shot, couldn't hurt.

Would this be alright with a sponge filter, this is all i will have in my 20 gal tank he is going in.

yeah should be fine. I would just do a full dose of both and leave it in the water for a couple of days without adding any additional doses or doing a water change. Then on the 3rd day do a water change and add a half dose. If anything is wrong with him this will clear it up no doubt.

I just noticed(good thing i looked)my son did a water change for me last nite and unplugged the heater(i keep my water fairly warm 82 degrees) i looked at the temp reading and it dropped to 72 degrees, could this drop over nite cause my fish to get sick??

since it was a drastic drop I would think not but it is possible. Given that the temp for umbee in the wild can drop to 72 I would think that it wouldn't be to harmful but like I said treat him anyways as it will not affect his health and could only help if anything is wrong with him.
