damnet!!!!!!!!!!!!! i just got a red wolf yesterday, hes acting normal but today i noticed those little white specks on his flanks that were not there yesterday, i looked at pics i took yesterday, and they are not there, so im thinking ICH, and its clearly not just white color, there raised white bumps, i had to nudge him out of his hide into the light to make sure, ive been keeping fish for 15 years and this is my first case of ich, please give me some advice, are wolves tolerant of the standard ich meds, ive raised the temp a bit to 82 degrees, added some salt, but dont know if i should treat, please help me, he is so cool, i cannot lose this fish

what you did should work bump temp add salt and frequent water changes

i got lifegueard tabs, should i use those to medicate, also, i have stress coat, would that help??/????

bump, should i treat with lifeguard, or, will lifeguard even work HELP

I usually add salt and leave it. It will go away.
My temperature is pretty bumped up in my part of the world. It's good if you can maintain a constant temperature.

I will only use medication if the above doesn't work. I've used the Protozin medication by Waterlife (www.waterlife.co.uk) and it works pretty well. This medication does colour your water blue though.
Otherwise, I suppose any other medication will work fine.

I've had ich on both my ery ery and ery sp. peru since they are in the same tank seperated by a divider. But both recovered in a couple of days.

if its ich then you can bump the temperature up to 82F and add salt or just use heat treatment by increase temperature to or above 86F for 10 days (I did 2 weeks before just to be safe). Ich can't survivor about 86F. just keep an eye on the fish and make sure the fish isn't stressed out from the increase of heat.

Agree 100% with everyone - Ich is real easy maybe even the easiest to get rid of. Salts to stimulate slime coat regerenration and kill the free swimming young - Higher temps to speed up the metabalism of the Ich thus shorting their life span - water changes to keep the oxygen up and the nitra down during the higher temps.
