I am sure that "Aro" is trying to piss off my armatus. The 2 seem to get a long for a pretty long time until the Armatus starts to lunge at my Armatus when they are on opposite sides of the tank. I am assuming the Armatus sees silver shiny meal charges then aborts when he sees it is too big. The Aro the proceeds to swin in circles around the Armatus almost like he is provoking him. I love both fish. The Aro has actually bitten the armatus a few times. The Armatus has only lunged and snapped at the aro a but never followed through with anything. Am I asking for my Aro to get shanked? I love both fish. The Armatus is a prehistoric beast and the aro has an incredible personality. I am just wondering if anyone knows if this is somewhat normal behaviour of he aro? As stated before it is almost like the Aro is instigating a problem. Or maybe just asserting himself??

if there is no visible damage you don't need to worry.. if there is limited damage they just might have to establish territory..

if it gets real bad you might need to decide then.. jmo

What are the sizes of the fish? What size is the tank? Any other tankmates?

8'X28"X24" high both are about 9" with a 9"ish royal pleco and about 7" synodontis cat.

yeah, i feel like the silver might be at risk!

So wrong!!! :shakehead :thumbsdow Keep an eye on the silver and make sure he doesn't hurt your Armatus, since you won't find Armatus all the time. Aro doesn't tolerate bully, so if the Armatus games, aro games! With the size of your tank, it will not be fun to see the aro ride the Armatus from one side to the other side

It sounds like to me the Aro is the aggressor. Armatus is just trying to back off the Aro and the Aro is kinda displaying dominance. Like the other person said, just keep an eye. It all depends on how light or severe the fighting is.

thx a lot guys. Actually I think you 2 are right
about the aro being the aggressor. The arm
has a few scales missing by his tail.Nothing
to raise major concern just yet. I will keep
an eye on them. They usssually seem like
they like each others company. This is
very interesting to watch. .will keep yua posted. thx again for the help.

That's funny...my Silver usually backs down as soon as it is challenged. If there is no major damage, I would just wait it out, but keep a very close eye on them.
