My Silver Aro (Bullet) swims weird after jumping out of tank!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i hope your fish survives maybe with a bit of time it will heal up

Could be just trauma, when one of mine jumped out, it was swimming forward and then would drift backwards for 2 seconds or so and start swimming again. This stopped after 4 days. But I also second the swim bladder idea. If hes swimming tilted its usually the swim bladder.

Silver Aro (Bullet) jumped into over flo n died:cry:......R.I.P. he was soo beautiful... it was the second time he did it. This time i came too late... i think that after the initial jump he somehow developed brain trauma. bcs he was a little bit weird...

this happened after one of my fish was left buried in gravel after my mom tore my tank down cause we were moving. he was still alive but when i stuck it back in the water i could have swore it was dead. it made it through but swam funny for about 2 weeks. then all of a sudden it started swimming like normal. maybe yours will heal like mine?

I think i know why its swimming like that..

My own silver arowana at 11" is swimming with a slight tilted.. AND.. he has a drop eye..

this problem might be related to drop eye.. later on...

I dont want to scare you.. because i could be wrong.. but what happen to my fish was this..

I had him in a 5gallon tank (at 6") I know BIG mistake right.... so he jumped out and landed 3 ft below.. He was fine until when we moved him to a 55g... thats when i saw that he was swimming tilted.. and slowly.. drop eye on his right side.. He now has a drop eye and continues to swimming with a 75-80degree tilted.....

I hope ur arowana will be fine.. but he might have hurt himself...

Also.. i saw the youtube vid.. I would say lowering the water level since he's still a young fish.. about 6inches?? Try lowering 3-4 inches of water level... I do that for my tank.. to prevent him from jumping out...

anyways.. good luck!
