my silver aro is dying

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I tried ick medicine lost all my fish. Used Aqaurium salt works every time.

i hope he will be okay.. aquarium salt is the only way to go ... but not too much..raise temp to 80-82 but the most important thing is too not get ick at all..never add new fish with out first always quarenteen in tank by themself for at least three weeks..because adding new fish is the #1 reason for ICK.. and then they all suffer.. also if temp of water is too cool Ick can develope easier.. but water change is the only helpful imediate solution to helping arow ..sounds like overdose or just the wrong med for him.

Gaining a little more info before suggesting a 50% water change would be wise.

What is your regular w/c schedule? What do your water parameters(ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH and temp) read? When you say "acting weird" please explain more.

Often times Ich is brought on by the fish becoming stressed, pH swing, temp drop, ammonia spike, etc. Your aro could be still suffering from what ever triggered the onset of Ich.

Brian....you do great job of explaining .... just excellent!

He died, so did my gold nugget pleco, my spotted perch, and my jurunese cat. I knew something was wrong when he started swimming towards the bottom of the tank. My datnoid had it too but it went away thanks to the daily water changes ive been doing and the salt and heat. that was a big waste of money, so i'll be quarantining my fish from now on. thanks for the advice
