Pic below
My large 28" silver aro eats anything that falls into the tank!
Things he should eat and some he shouldn't. He has tried eating, suction cups, air lines(got about 13" of airline down him with bubbles still coming out of his mouth before letting go), 1" pvc in short lengths, 1/2 pvc return line, the blue plastic splash trimming, very large moths that end in my room and end up in the tank (2-3 so far), my hand a few times (got it to bleed too) and the most recent is this flexable air bubbler.

I woke up to him splashing one morning. He got a 15" flexable air bubbler lose and decided he wanted to eat it no matter how hard it was for him. He was trying for about 5 mintues as i reached in the tank to try to grab it from his mouth. He got about 10" down, because it was twisted up, before he spit it up, im guessing he could have been trying all morning. I bearly got it from him before he went for a second try. Im glad he didn't eat it, im sure it is not good for him.

I feed him often and well, and if im late he get pretty moody. Im sure its because he is only in this small 220. I wish my 300 didn't have a crack.
I just thought id share this pic with everyone, im sure my aro isn't the only one that likes to eat everything.

Half arowana - half goat! ;)

i am developing the same problem except my aro is only 5 inch's!!! Bloodworm, full pellets, fingers, thermomoter, leaves, air hose, the list is endless. You would think he wasnt fed!!!

Never had that Problem with my arrowana, closest thing to that was she slammed the thermo the first time i introduced one that floats around the tank must of decided it wasn't in her diet because she never tried agian to my knowledge. I feed her goldfish every friday and sometimes some krill for a snack mid week if she get antzy. How often do you feed, what foood, and how much?? I hope mine never starts to do this she would have a field day with my powerheads and plants......o yeah i guess when i first got her i had 2 pleco's and a month later she was super fat and a pleco mysteriously disappered nowhere to be found on the floor, but never did eat his buddy.

Wow your 5" silver sounds like he is going to be a healthy and active one. If i were you id try to make a setup where the aro can jump out of the water and eat food above the tank like in the wild. Use an open top tank, border the sides with acrylic, have vines/plants hanging above and put live and raw food. See if you can train this one and other to feed similar to how they might time to time in the wild.

I feed my silver most tilapia, shrimp, catfish, sometimes mealworms/crickets, smelt, and ill try to put in pellets or sticks inside most of the raw food. I feed my aro atleast every other. I have so many fish that i try to feed everyday and ratio out who gets what. But if im lagging or miss a day, my aro and large catfish get very fuzzy/splashy/moody till they are feed.

Solid looking silver
