The 1500 gallon pond is almost complete but until I post that here is a vid of my boy eating one of his daily mice. Man I love Aro's. Gandalf, take it away brother. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hF96nDg9Ak
I am running an fx5 a 330 and a cascade on the tank and I do third water changes every three days or so. Thats the dedication I put into an animal whos digestive track at his size is ment to be digesting all types of protein. Stay natural and you can't go wrong. He also gets chicken breast and Tetra Cichlid sticks. Look at the other videos of him on youtube and you may agree that a little mouse hair is nothing compared to seeing him react to your presence. Thanks for the feed back. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpaNGW2jhPc
Here he is with the other two. The other large male is Clowd. He is starting to take larger prey and the little girl is Arwen. She likes her feeders and sticks.
Do you clip their nails/other sharp parts? The only reason I ask is that I lost a black arowana to a sharp piece of shrimp.
I can't help but think that they don't eat chicken or tetra presence in their natural environment though
